Hello,
I am new to Servicenow and I would like to know how to configure an email notification in a servicecatalog workflow. The notification will go to non itil user's manager for approval. If the manager replies approve , I want a task to be created , if Not approved, I would like fo for the Request to be cancelled sending notification to the requested for of the rejected status.

Hi Rhonda,
Out of the box once you add user using approval activity an approval email is triggered to that user.
Remember there is licensing cost for approval users:
If you are implementing approval using emails then I believe it don't require any additional license cost. But if your are providing the user with approver_user role then it requires a license as this role allows a user to use the approval UI directly for processing approvals.

You can't approve a record via email from a user without an approval license.
As always, please talk to your Account Manager for any confirmation around licenses.
You could probably build a Flow to mimic approvals with tasks if you really wanted to.

Approving via email does incur an approval license, unless you are on an agreement that allows it.
As far as I know, on all modern agreements, it incurs a license cost. I've known customers to be stung with this.

I'm not sure about the modern agreement contract but it doesn't require approval license for approvals thru emails
