Hi @Dan163,
The roles and responsibilities of a Change Adoption Specialist and a Business Process Analyst to help you decide which career path suits you better:
Change Adoption Specialist:
A Change Adoption Specialist focuses on ensuring that organizational changes are effectively implemented and adopted by employees. This role is less technical and more centered around people, processes, and communication.
Responsibilities and Role (R&R):
1.Develop change management plans
2.Engage stakeholders
3.Create and deliver communication materials
4.Design and deliver training programs
5.Monitor change progress and gather feedback
6.Collaborate with project teams
Business Process Analyst:
A Business Process Analyst focuses on analyzing and improving business processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness. This role involves a combination of understanding business needs and implementing solutions, often leveraging technology but not necessarily involving heavy coding.
Responsibilities and Role (R&R):
1.Map and analyze processes
2.Gather and document business requirements
3.Develop and implement process improvements
4.Analyze data for trends and improvements
5.Manage process improvement projects
6.Create process documentation and training materials
If you enjoy working closely with people, helping them adapt to changes, and focusing on communication and training, the Change Adoption Specialist role may be a better fit for you.
If you prefer analyzing and improving processes, gathering requirements, and working on projects to enhance business efficiency, the Business Process Analyst role may be more suitable.
Both roles play a crucial part in organizational improvement but cater to different interests and strengths. Consider what aspects of work you enjoy the most to make an informed decision.
Thank you, Please mark helpful, if you accept the solution.

Great question first of all. In theory, they are quite different roles, but it very much depends on how your organisation is positioning the roles in relation to any others they might have. In practice, I have seen a big overlap in these roles, particularly when it comes to training facilitation and preparation together with taking a lead on stakeholder management and engagement. It's well worth checking out ServiceNow's 2 career pathways to get a feel for whats intended.

Hi Dan,
If you are not very comfortable with Coding, you can be :-
1- System Administrator - Working on Daily activities like - Some system configurations, Uploading Data, Adding Roles. Groups. Users, Creating Reports etc. etc.
2- Business Process Managers - Incident Manager, Problem Manager, Change Manager, Knowledge Manager, Request Manager - They all take care of their respective Processes. Ex:- How many changes are there in system, who is working on what, Whether they are following the processes or not, Providing status to the higher management about your module etc. etc.
3- Business Analyst - Getting requirements from end users, converting those in the way so that developers can understand those requirements, Tracking the implementation, testing and then communicating back to End users. In short a Bridge between Business users and developers.
4- Functional specialist or Implementer - If you are very well aware about ITIL/ ITSM processes or any other like- HRSD etc. you can be a implementer. Means you will guide organizations how they can implement these processes from scratch or how they can improve the existing processes.
5- Few Companies recruit people how can manager they catalogs, if they have a lot of catalogs. Role will be to manage all catalogs and see how those can be improve and how users will be able to utilize those better.
So there are many roles in ServiceNow but it all depends on the organization what kind of position they have and what expectations they have from the person.
Hope it will clear your understanding.
