Hey Community. Looking for input on what the Managed by attribute on Business Application has been used for. We are currently using Business Owner to indicate the person for the Business line of sight. Many times this owner is at a Director level in the Company. When using Data Certification to Collect missing attributes or certify the populated attributes are accurate, the Director level is too high to work on assigned Tasks. So I'm considering using "Managed by" to identify a lower level person to work the task. So I'm wondering if anyone can give input on what kind of person should be in the Managed by attribute.

Hi
that sounds about right - I did an extract from some of the NowCreate docs:
focussing on the group attributes, but managed_by should be the same purpose as the managed_by_group, so I'd say you are on the right track!
Actually here is the official slide from the CMDB Workshop deck:

Please mark as helpful or correct, if deemed so. Thank you!

Hi Jimmers,
Christian is right with a side-note that the documentation is about the managed domain.
These attributed are synced from Technical Service Offerings via Dynamic CI Groups to all related CIs. That is basically the purpose of the Dynamic CI Groups, to limit the maintenance up to Technical Service Offering level.
In the Business Application level the managed by is not used (ootb) but as it is an attribute on cmdb_ci table it does exist. Yes you can use it for that purpose it does make sense.
BR,
Barry
