I received the following email regarding PDI. This is not the inactivity monitor.

Is there a way to retain the PDI?

Hi @akshayashetty .

I had been using my PDI for a long time, but I received an email similar to yours.

Despite what the email stated, my instance went offline immediately.

I waited for half a day, but it never recovered.

Therefore, I requested a new PDI. According to the banner header on the Developer Site, PDIs are currently unavailable, suggesting that even if you join the waiting list, it will take a long time before one is assigned.

regards,

Hi @akshayashetty

There is no way to retain PDI. Also there is no support available for PDI.

As you have received warning message , ensure you have taken proper back up of your work. because it anytime it is reclaimed, you will loose all your data.

Please check this Personal Developer Instance (PDI) Guide

Where it is written-

"When a PDI is reclaimed, the instance is unassigned from you, reset to its original state, and reassigned to another Developer Site user. Reclaiming instances allows ServiceNow to supply active developer site user with free instances."

Once it is reclaimed, Request for New PDI instance.

No mate. Those warning emails are genuine. Your Developer Instance is associated with your email address and Developer account, so it will eventually be reclaimed if you don't use it.

Your only option is to take a backup of your work before the instance is reclaimed. Otherwise, you'll lose all the data and customizations you've made. @akshayashetty

I used my PDI on Wednesday (sceenshot attached shows last used 2 days ago!), got the same email yesterday. It is offline with no way to log in and save anything with automatic reclamation tomorrow!

Your Personal Developer Instance (PDI) is scheduled for automatic reclamation on July 11, 2026.

Instance: devnnnn
URL: https://devnnnnn.service-now.com/
Reclamation Date: July 11, 2026

Please back up any data or configurations you wish to keep before this date. Once reclaimed, the instance and its contents will no longer be available. Extensions are not supported.

If you require a PDI in the future, you may submit a new request through the Developer Portal, subject to platform policies and availability.

Thank you,
ServiceNow Developer Program Team
