SP to ESC migration time estimation

Hello group,

I have a non technical question - could somebody tell me from their experience, how long the migration from sp to esc might last ? I am a junior developer and it's hard for me to estimate. Thank you in advance.

Hi @Maciej Krzy_y_s ,

It's completely depends on what all you want to migrate from SP to ESC!!

If you have a lot of widgets and menu items then it would probably take the whole sprint .

Hello @Maciej Krzy_y_s , I'm with @Community Alums -

I recently upgraded HR from so to EC, and I've never done it before, hadn't even taking any portal training courses yet. During the start of the migration from SP to EC, I did finally get to take the portal fundamentals course. That definitely helped a bit -

But yes, depends on how you'll be setting up the new EC, widgets, ect.. And, after you have requirements established, there will probably be changes. At least for me that's what happened. Things kept changing and so did the timing.

We gave ourselves a couple of months for go-live. And even afterwards there were still changes. So, without getting technical, it really depends on what you'll be doing for the new portal.

Cheers,

-Rob
