Demo - Asset Management

Anish Reghu
Kilo Sage

Dear community,

I need a quick help in setting up my instance to showcase the lifecycle of asset management (hardware assets).

And also, the ask is to specifically demo two key features in HAM.

Please advise how this task can be done with ease. Need a step-by-step detailed navigation.

NOTE - I am not new to ServiceNow, I can interpret if you ask to create some configurations or records as part of the exercise, so it need not be that detailed. I can certainly do this on my own, but I am seeking help because of a tight timeline. Someone who has worked on it before can please help here.

Many thanks for your efforts...

Regards,

Anish

Hi, you cannot demo on n PDI, here is a video

Automate the update of your asset records throughout its life cycle and remove the effort of manually maintaining asset accuracy. Assets need to be updated and tracked from the time they are purchased until they are disposed. The automation process starts from the time you request an asset through

Which are the 2 specific features that you need to demo? As HAM is not available on PDI, you can enroll in 'HAM fundamentals on demand' course whose URL is given below and request a lab instance (assuming you have access to nowlearning):

Following are some key topics which you can demo (consider the relevant ones based on your specific use cases and based on the level of awareness of audience) :

Models and Model categories

Asset table (alm_asset) and its child tables like alm_hardware and alm_consumable.

Stockrooms and stock rules

Normalization

Asset lifecycle flows automation (E.g. Inventory stock order, Asset refresh, Asset disposal etc.)

Hardware asset dashboards

Hardware asset workspace (it would be a good idea to start the demo from the workspace and navigate to various menus inside it to showcase some of the key features)
