HAM Mobile Scanning to Receive Assets creating new assets

I'm currently implementing HAM Pro into our ServiceNow instance and have set up mobile scanning to work in conjunction with Advanced Shipment Notifications for receiving assets via Purchase Orders. However, I’ve encountered some challenges that I’d like to get your thoughts on:

1. Issue with Asset Creation: When our warehouse agents scan assets using the Mobile Agent App (via the Purchase Order/Purchase Order Line Item), the system creates new asset records if the scanned asset isn’t already in the system, even when the scanned Asset Tag/Serial Number differs. There doesn’t appear to be any validation to compare whether assets with matching details are already linked to the Purchase Order, which can lead to unintentional asset creation.
2. Purchase Order State: The Purchase Order is updated to "Received" status even if there are assets still marked as "In Transit." This causes tracking concerns, as the system assumes the entire order has been fulfilled even when it has not.

Here’s what I’m trying to determine:

• Is it possible for the system to automatically check whether the assets (by Asset Tag or Serial Number) are already tied to the Purchase Order before creating new assets? It would be preferable if a warning or notification triggered before receiving the assets when a validation check fails.
• Alternatively, should this be handled via a Business Rule or scheduled report that flags situations where a Purchase Order transitions to "Received" status while some assets are still marked as "In Transit"?

Has anyone else run into this issue or addressed it in their instance? Any best practices or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
