Move model to different class

How can I move a model from one class to another?

Background: A colleague created "Special purpose" in the Asset Class alm_hardware and the parent_category "Company". He made a mistake here from my point of view. The "Special purpose" container is basically a bin for anything that has a certain money value and he couldn't put anywhere else, from his point of view.

Me, coming from the CMDB point of view, I easily found a CI class that these devices would fit in. Problem is, the CI classes I would like to use would be synching with Models in another Asset Class and parent category.

For example a large 65inch Monitor in a meeting room would be CI Class "Display Device [cmdb_ci_display]" that would sync with the Asset Class "Facility asset [sn_ent_facility_asset]" in the parent category "Facilities" and the Name would be "AV Displays":

So, when I go to the product model for the 65inch monitors, I cannot choose "AV Displays" as a Model category. I can only choose from those models that are in the parent category "Company".

Also I cannot change the parent category for "AV Displays"... loads of error messages.

Is there an easy way, that I can change the models category so that the assets within it will start synchronizing with the CMDB?

In this video I show you how to update the model category of an existing hardware asset in ServiceNow using an .XML file. #itassetmanagement #hardwareassetmanagement #itam #ham #servicenow

Unfortunately it does not help my issue... I can change the model category for an asset, but somehow the asset is not shown, when I check in the new model category afterwards. And also there is no CI created...
