Dear all,
I would like to change my Developer ServiceNow instance from Tokyo to San Diego Release. However, I can't find these instructions or this setting anywhere. Could someone please assist me with this? Thanks in advance and best regards,

Hello @SarahFaessler
If its a personal developer instance then you have to request for another instance which is in San Diego version, current instance cannot be downgraded.

Hello,
You cannot downgrade from one family version to another. See below articles from Servicenow

Dear both, thank you very much for your answers.
I set up the developer instance from scratch and I could only select the Tokyo release. However, I want to have the San Diego release on my recently created developer instance. So I don't have any data etc. in the developer instance yet. How and where can I change this setting? Thanks in advance.

HI Sarah,
Hope you are doing fine.
Unfortunately we don't have the option to downgrade the instance and as I can see that you have set up the new instance from scratch.
Please try to Release the instance once . What it will do is it will remove all the active instance under your name and then you can get started as fresh.
After that while creating a new instance you will get the option to select the version.
Note : In few cases you will see that the san diago version is available but its in read only mode you cant select it the reason for this is there is no PDI instance available for that version. In that case waiting is the only option as ServiceNow team is trying hard to get new instance for us .

Hello
you have to take new PDI, Which you can set to San-Diego. wait if its not available or drop an email to ServiceNow.
You can not downgrade from Tokyo to San-Diego
Thanks

Hi @SarahFaessler ,
If you are downgrading a developer instance means ,it is not supported .
You can release your instance and request another, however there is no guarantee you will be issued a developer instance running on version ,it may be either any version.
You can refer below links for more clarification.

Dear all, thank you very much for supporting me! Where I reopened the instance, I was not asked about the release. So when I open and ask for an instance, I can't ask for the San Diego release and select that?

Hi @SarahFaessler ,
Yes!! While Requesting for a new Instance you would be definitely asked which release you want as part of your new instance , there you can select "San Diego" and proceed.
