Personal Developer Instance help - unable to release instance

I requested an Australia instance yesterday. Decided to move to Zurich. When I released australia and requested Zurich the instance appeared available right away, like it didn't need to be built. And it already had changes on it made by another administrator.

Each time I release instance now I'm getting a new Zurich dev instance number, rather than the option to choose which version of instance I want.

First, you cant downgrade the PDI if you request it from the Australia release, but you might be placed on a waiting list. If that happens, you won’t be able to proceed without releasing it first. If you release the Zurich instance and request again, then yes—each time you will receive a new dev number, it will not be the same. When you get a PDI, it comes preloaded with basic plugins and modules.

When you click on “Request an Instance,” the system will give you a popup where you can choose from the current version and the last two versions. You can then select the one you want. However, I would recommend choosing the Zurich version and then upgrading it to the Australia release.

If You need Zurich Instance , Release your Australia instance and request for Zurich Instance.

In Servicenow Upgrade is possible but Not Downgrading.

From Zurich->Australia  (it is supported feature).

You can not downgrade from Australia ->Zurich!

Not sure what you're trying to achieve - When requesting an instance you will be able to select if it should be Zurich or Australia, but you can't keep the Dev instance number - that is randomly assigned.
