Hi I just need some guidance on production instances in ServiceNow. I need to implement an instance for the internal use of my company (tickets, track timesheets, etc) and the members of my team. For the use im gonna give the instance is advisable that I proceed on a Production instance right? Rather than on a non-production one.

Hiya,

Dunno if this sheds light or context but...

... when we commisioned ServiceNow we used Agile Stories, Sprints &tc. to build our SN "estate".

We did this on our first instance, that was dev.

When we finaly got prod, we started to use Agile on Prod, because of clone back, ignorance &tc we have lost all our Agile work which we logged, recorded &tc. in Dev. [imoho] If it's "live" work, relating to current business practice/process (no matter which Dept/Team), use prod (until Chuck tells you otherwise! :).

Hi,

Indeed, proceed to use the functionality you mention, for real, in the production instance. However this should be after you have validated everything works as you want. If some things are broken or need configuring, then use sub production instance(s) to fix and configure, then promote the changes to production.

Yeah, its really just an instance that now is being configured, meaning it has never been used before (its now a non-production instance) and Im required to configure it for the internal process that I mentioned previously and since its my first time doing this I needed more guidance on the matter. If you have any more tips or resources that I can look into let me know. Thank you! @Matt
