Install status changing to 'In use' even after marking CI as 'retired'.

Hi,

On windows server form marking install status field to 'retired' value but whenever discovery performs install status field changing to 'In use'. can anyone suggest how install status field value changing to 'In use'.

Discovery found the server on the network and is updating it. Is the server retired or not? Is it on the network?

This Means Discovery is Finding the CI on your network still - This is why its discovering the server and updating it.

This is expected behavior . Please make sure your Company's server decommission process is good to handle this as server is not retired still in CMDB you are retiring it.

if the device is no longer needed to be kept in commissioned state then move it to decommissioned/retired state and make sure the IP is excluded from discovery scan.

Best case is- if any device is decommissioned then it should not be on network.
