Can you send an email from an Incident Task?

We can send emails from with an incident but there's no option to send from the incident task.

You need to enable the Email Client on that table first by adding an attribute called "email_client" on the table's "Collection" record - Dictionary attributes.

Thank you Jim. Yes your solution worked as expected. 

I'm able to see the email icon in incident tasks, I send the email but it does not show up in the work notes in the form as it does on the incident form. Any suggestions?

You would have to add that t0 the list of items that are added to the Activity field.  Click on the filter icon then on "Configure available fields":

... then move "Sent/Received Emails" over to the "Selected" box:
