Change CSS styles on field messages

Hi All,

i would like to change the padding and margin of the field messages boxes, (showFieldMsg)

yes, 

i could see the theme sys_id of the on the browser but couldn't find these css defined in their.

Not sure how to override this, i just want make below padding from 10px to 2px

Hi,

possibly the css or the UI script is internal to ServiceNow and cannot be accessed

Will let you know if I something I get.

Hi Ankur,

Even i thought the same CSS includes are inside ServieNow WAR files and can't be accessible but wanted to confirm can we override, tried applying CSS styles in the theme but no luck.

If the CSS is included inside ServiceNow WAR file and if this was working fine with this new custom theme prior to upgrade

I would suggest raising HI ticket with ServiceNow since you didn't update anything in theme to override this

One important thing to ask is why?  Why do field messages need different styling to the client? 

By attempting to override this piece of functionality, you'll be putting the support burden on the client's ServiceNow administrators, as HI can assist with troubleshooting, but will no longer be responsible for any issues that may arise from customizing ootb functionality.
