Teams integration without Virtual Agent being currently used.

We are looking to get install Teams integration , however we don't currently use Virtual Agent. Do we need to configure Virtual Agent first and get this up and running or can we just install Teams and configure from there.

Hi, 

Short: 

NO you dont need to use Virtual Agent, but you need to configure the VA Bot in the ServiceNow MS Teams integration application. 

Long: 

You can just install the MS Teams integration plugin and follow the setup. 

BUT 

You need to configure the VA Bot in the ServiceNow Teams integration application to create an application file. 

With the Out of the box setup you will get Chat, Files, Employee Center, About 

When you have configured the VA Bot you can download the application file as a Zip. 

You need to open this file and manipulate the manifest.json file: 

Remove the following block: 

Save the json and zip all the three files again. 

Then you will have the following tabs:

Employee Center , About

Upload the new zip as an application within teams.

I believe it is now called 

Employee Center for Microsoft Viva connections. Name:  sn_now_ms_viva

I cant remember specific plugins as it was installed / or preinstalled by platform team but that can be of the name change I mentioned on the top.
