Hello,
I noticed in the Paris release there is a new "Aliases" menu option under Report Administration that takes you to the table sys_report_field_alias. The documentation also has been updated when creating reports. However, I am not seeing the "configure Report Labels" option in reporting on either my Developer instance of Paris or our upgraded environment. I also can't seem to get the functionality to work just using the table. Is there something I missing that needs to be turned on?
(Optional) Configure report label aliases.
- Click Configure Report Labels.
The Configure aliases window has tabs for all the columns that you have selected for the report.
- Select a column that should have aliases for either the column name, or its values, or both.
You can set an alias for the column name or just for the values in the column. You can configure all the values for fields that have a limited number of possibilities, even if only some of those values are present in the current report. For example, an incident report with a Priority field has no incidents with the priority P3-Medium at the time you configure the alias labels. You can still configure an alias for P3-Medium.
- Set aliases for the values in the selected column.
You can set an alias for any or all values associated with the column, or none of them. For example, all of your incident categories might be single words except for Hardware/Laptop. You can set the alias for this category to Hardware, because laptops are just another kind of hardware.

Hi Holly, hi Kieran,
Correct, this is something we are currently working on. Within testing and design partner / limited access internal programs we're capturing usage and use cases. As well as making the solution more robust to be used in many platform capabilities, even outside of charting.
We don't think it has reached this state yet, therefor only use it internally to learn and adapt. Unfortunately I cannot say which release this will be. Do know that it's high on our radar where we heard many requests around the ability to 'change' labeling and context of charts.
For that reason, we were also working on a feature called function calculation and formatting options. Both were ready in Paris and shipped. Hope that info helps, all the best.

Hi Holly,
This feature needs to be enabled via the system property glide.report.enable_alias_config. The system property is read-only so isn't intended for us to change. I'd reach out to HI Support asking for it to be changed.
Potentially it's a feature not yet finished thats been shipped. If you do find out, let the community know by updating this question thread.

Hi Kieran
Did you get a response on this? is it because the functionality is not yet ready?

It was disabled due to an increase in log output on Paris instances. KB0863551
You'll need to contact HI to enable it still.

The linked KB suggests that the issue is "fixed"...
However we're on Utah patch 4 and the Property is still Read-Only.
Do I just not understand what "fixed" means?
