What is the ITAM CI Usages (itam_ci_usage) table used for?

What is the ITAM CI Usages (itam_ci_usage) table used for? I see that it is populated by the SAM/CI - Populate Licensing Data scheduled job that uses the SAMLicensingUtility script include, but the job seems to cause serious performance issues. What is the table used for (License Workbench? Reclamation workflow? Something else?)? Could this job be run weekly instead of daily?

Hi Claire,

The table and daily job collect and store data used in identifying a customer's consumption of their ServiceNow ITAM product subscriptions.  The query looks for CI's meeting certain discovery criteria over the last 90 days. 

I'm not sure what ServiceNow release your organization is currently utilizing. If it is San Diego P4 or lower, you should expect to see improvements when you move to San Diego P5 or higher.
