Cloned SC Category Page Doesn't Work Even With no Changes Made

I'm attempting to make a custom SC Category Page for our Service Portal. When I clone the base SC Category Page, the clone says "You do not have permission to see this category" even though I haven't made any changes. I don't see any dependencies or templates in the OOB SC Category Page so IDK why it immediately breaks. SC Category Page is a part of the Global scope and so is my clone. Any idea what's going wrong?

Apparently, it's an issue with the preview. After cloning, I had turned on the preview so I could observe the changes I was attempting, and only ever saw that error. When I go and put the cloned widget on the actual Portal, it looks normal. I made the incorrect assumption that the preview would be the same as the Portal since that's been my experience with other widgets so far.

Hi Josh, I just tried what you're describing, and it worked fine.  (I cloned the SC Category Page widget, created a new service portal page and added my cloned widget to the new page.)

When testing your new page/cloned widget combination, are you including a category sys_id in the url? If you are including a sys_id, are you able to see that same category in that same portal using the oob page/widget? If you're not including a sys_id, then the widget will attempt to display the oob 'Popular Items' category by default.  Maybe you have an issue with accessing popular items..?
