Dear all,
I am new to service now and i am actually running the Self pack fundamental training.
Once section I have cover is CMDB, CI, Dependency View, RelationShip editor,ImportSet, transformation
Then at the end of the recap of the modules theire are 3 questions that even after reading again the module i have no glue of what to answer.... question are as follow :
Q1 : Why would you use this capabilities
Q2 : when would you use this capabilities
Q3 : how often would you use this cpabilities
I have no real customer project experience yet, juts going through therory so i do not have a global view.
Thanks for helping me answering those question which will help me to catch it

Here is short and crisp..
CMDB - is a central repository where CIs are stored with relationships with OTHER CIs. CMDB data is consumed by various ITIL processes like Incident Management, Change Management , Asset Management etc.
So in actual setups:
Incident Management- What is broken example - I am unable to access a given Application X. so here Application X is a CI which is broken.
Change Management:- on What CI we are making changes. Example- I am patching a given Server Y And this Server Hosts Application X. So dependency view will give an idea about the Impact of the Given Change which we are doing on server Y.
So let say Server Y is coming UP after Patching then in advance i know Application X is impacted . And This Impact analysis is coming from Dependency View of CI and Its relationships.
