Is there a size limit to how big a knowledge article can be?

My team is going to be creating rather sizable knowledge articles based on existing Word documents. Is there a size limit? We have some documents that are in excess of 20 pages. Want to know if I am heading into a problem.

Would also like any pointers on knowledge article limits and gotchas.

Can you create the article and make it an attachment link?   That would keep the formatting of the documents you have, and users would just have access to download your process docs.   Or do you need them as actual KB articles?

My instance version is NY. I have a knowledge article, Word.docx, 60 pages, 427KB file size, internal links and bookmarked throughout. I don't import, I copy and paste (formatting is better) it into my KB article. I have been doing this for months, I am at 86 versions of this article. When it is published, the links work within fractions of a second. Today I get this error message.  

I thought there wasn't a size limit, did they impose one 5 years later? If there is, 1MB seems extremely low to be the maximum size. I couldn't find any documentation on this.

Even though this message popped up. My article did get published and it seems to be working, still I would like to figure out whether this is going to break soon.

Hi Michael, do u receive some information about the reason why NewYork limits the size of te content of the articles?.

In the documentation I see the Orlando "new" restriction but in New York don't exist (teorically).
