Add competitors to an opportunity
Capture competitor details for your opportunity so that you can have winning sales conversations with your customer.
Before you begin
Role required: sales_manager
Procedure

Navigate to List view
and select Opportunity - All.
- From the Opportunity List window, select the opportunity you want to work with and select the Competitors tab.
- Select New to start a new opportunity competitor or select an existing opportunity competitor to make changes.

Fill in the fields in the Opportunity Competitor form.
Table 1. Opportunity Competitor form Fields Descriptions Opportunity Competitor Opportunity The opportunity number starting with the prefix OPTY. Competitor Source Indicates where the competitor presence originates from in the context of an opportunity and associated product offering. Allowed values: - Existing: When the competitor represents a currently deployed or incumbent solution at the customer.
- Other: When the competitor is not currently deployed at the customer.
Product Offering The commercial product selected or evaluated on the opportunity. Company Competitor or incumbent company name. Product Offering Family Higher-level grouping or BU/family used for forecasting and analysis. Incumbent Selected if the vendor or solution is currently deployed at the customer and is being replaced, competed with, or evaluated against for this product offering. Notes Strengths Strengths of the competitor. Weaknesses Weaknesses of the competitor. Work Notes Internal-only notes for product, sales, or design follow-up. -
Select Save.
The competitor information is added to the main opportunity.
