    Prerequisites and Configuration Issues

    Before troubleshooting SQL API errors, verify that the following prerequisites and configurations are in place:

    • The SQL API plugin is installed on your ServiceNow instance (minimum version: Australia Patch 1 or Zurich Patch 8).
    • JDK 17 is installed on the client machine.
    • A non-interactive user with Identity Type set to Machine is created.
    • The service account has the right roles assigned.
    • MFA is disabled for the non-interactive user.
    • ACLs with egress_sql and read operations are created for all tables the service account user needs to query.
    • The client machine IP address is added to the SQL API Authentication Policy IP filter criteria.
