Create an AI connection for GCP Vertex AI (v1.1.0)
Create an AI connection for GCP Vertex AI in AI Control Tower using the AI Service Graph Connector for GCP Vertex AI.
Before you begin
Role required: sn_ai_disc.discovery_admin and sn_cmdb_int_util.sgc_admin
Procedure
- Navigate to Al Control Tower workspace > Configurations > AI connections.
- Click Add.
- Select GCP Vertex AI from the available connectors and then select Create connection.

Review setup instructions page displays.
Note:Verify to follow all the prerequisite steps.
- Check the option I have read the setup instructions.
- Select Continue.

Create Credential with JSON file upload page appears (Optional).
Note:If a MID Server isn't available, or you have already generated a certificate, skip this step and use the standard credential setup path instead.
- Enter the Credential name.
- Click Attach file to upload JSON file.

Select Submit.
Note:Move to step 20.
- Create X.509 certificate.
- Select New.
- Enter the Name.
- Enter the Key store password.
- Select +Add file to attach JKS file.
- Select Upload to upload the JKS file.

Select Save.
The JKS file is added.

Select Continue.
Setup page appears.

Enter the details on Create and test connection (Without JSON file):
- Enter the Connection Name.
- Enter the Cloud region.
- Enter the Service Account Email.
- Enter the Keystore.
- Enter the Keystore Password.

Enter the Organization Id.
Note:Selecting MID Server is an option step.
- Select Continue.

Enter the details on Create and test connection (With JSON file):
- Enter the Connection Name.
- Enter the Cloud region.
- Choose the Select created credential.

Enter the Organization Id.
Note:This field is needed only if you're looking to discover agents related to one organization. This is valid only if the service account email has organization level access.
- Select Mid Selection.
- Enter the MID Application.
- Select Create and test connection.
- Select Continue.

Configure import schedule

Verify that both the parent scheduled jobs, Discovery and Execution are active as they are shipped out inactive.
Note:Ensure to execute the Discovery scheduled job first.
- Set the run frequency.

To run frequency by demand, select Execute Now.
Note:This is an optional step as the schedule imports run according to the schedule.
- Select Continue.

Verify that both the parent scheduled jobs, Discovery and Execution are active as they are shipped out inactive.
- Select the Confirm connection setup activity to verify whether the connection was configured.
Result
Select View all connections to review the connection details. The created connection appears in the Installed connections list.
