Key Features
- Contract Lifecycle Management: Workflows support creating, suspending, resuming, canceling, and renewing service contracts, contract lines, and entitlements.
- Automatic Renewal: You can enable automatic renewal of service contracts directly from quotes or orders by selecting the Auto-renew contract option. Renewals can be configured to trigger 90, 60, 30 days before contract expiration or on the contract creation date through the Customer Life Cycle Workflows Policy decision table.
- Renewal Pricing Adjustments: Renewal price can be based on either the List price (market price at renewal) or Contracted price. For Contracted price, you can specify a percentage markup or markdown to apply during renewal. These adjustment settings are controlled on quotes and orders but are visible on the service contract form.
- Contract End Date Management: During quote approval, the system alerts if contract end dates exceed product offering end dates and offers an option to update contract end dates to match product offerings.
- Co-termination of Quote Lines: Multiple quote lines can be assigned identical start and end dates by selecting them and using the Co-terminate function, facilitating synchronized contract periods.
- Price Ramps Visibility: Customers can scale purchases via price ramps that adjust pricing and quantities over time. Active price ramp details, including dates, term periods, ramp types, segments, and annual percentage increases, can be viewed on contract lines.
Benefits for ServiceNow Customers

Viewing price ramps
Customers can scale their purchases by adjusting the pricing and quantity throughout the contract or subscription term by using Ramps feature. For more info, see Add price ramps on a quote line item. You can view the price ramp details on the contract line. Only the active price ramp segment is displayed on the contract line. Select a contract line and select Ramps to view all the details of the price ramp for that contract line. You can view start and end date, term period, ramp type (yearly or quarterly), ramp segments, and Annual percentage increase (API%).
