Marc-Etienne is an Applied Research Scientist in the Trustworthiness and AI Governance Lab at ServiceNow Research. He is currently completing a PhD at the Vector Institute, studying machine learning interpretability and algorithmic bias under the supervision of Richard Zemel and Ashton Anderson. For the last year, he has been developing new methods of sample-based explainability.

Previously, he was co-founder and CTO of Neo Smart Blinds, an Internet of Things (IoT) startup now selling its products and services globally. He has also worked as a consultant in IoT and predictive analytics.

Marc-Etienne holds a Master’s in machine learning from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor’s in electrical engineering from McGill University in Montreal.
