I tested the OOB disposal workflow and stopped assets at various stages from completing the workflow.
I would have expected that once the disposal workflow was complete, that all the assets that did not complete the workflow would revert back to the original status BEFORE they entered the workflow, which is in stock, pending disposal and the stockroom reverted. I attached a document showing the steps and the end result on the last page, showing the stage and the state & substate of the assets that were cancelled in the workflow.

You need to check the attached workflow or flow designer. And do the modifications according to each stage, when it is closed incomplete.
Thanks & Regards

Thanks for your input to modify the OOB workflow.
I tend to believe that if you are allowed to cancel an asset from the OOB workflow, that the workflow, when completed, should revert the status back to the original status when they entered the workflow.
I want ServiceNow to provide a reason why the assets weren't cleaned up when they were cancelled, instead of having to do modifications to an OOB workflow.
