Hi all,
after many years, we have some old OS/X, Linux and Web Servers that were all decomissioned, and we are using only "Server" as model category from now on.
My question is: is there a way to deactivate those hardware categories from the list? I am afraid to delete them, because we have retired assets on them, I dont know the consequences of deleting the entire category.
What will be the best way to deactivate the model category, so the users cannot use it anymore in the system?

If your goal is to not delete the model category you can try one of the following options:
- Create dictionary entry override on model category field with a filter condition to exclude the unused model category.
- Create a business rule to prevent new records from being created with that model category.
- Create a UI policy to warn users to not use that model category if selected.
