As per the OOB process for HAM, the Sourcing task is being generated as soon as the request is approved, it does not check whether the approvals are received on RITMs or not for that request. Is there any specific reason for that? And then, why approvals step for RITM is included in "Standard Hardware Asset Request" flow?

Yes, this is the OOB functionality which Sn would need to modify. To solve it for our project, we replicated the flow and modified it with conditional trigger for creating the task record.

Hey were you able to figure out why? Were having the same issue. Sourcing request is created before equipment is approved.
