Employee Directory within SN instance that feeds to Portal

Hello SN Comm,

I am wondering if anyone has ever created an Employee like Directory within the ServiceNow instance. More specifically, I am looking to see how to go about creating an Employee Directory within the native application, that can someday feed into the Portal.

We are in the process of building our SN Employee Portal. If someone on the portal, needs to look up another employee's info such as, Phone Number, Desk Number, etc., we want to give them that ability. For now while the Portal is under construction, is there something that can be built within our SN Instance to hold this information? Maybe an Employee Directory Table that can reference the HR Profile to grab the phone number fields, along with name, and maybe their location and cost center (department)..

If anyone has done something like this, or knows the direction I should go in, please let me know!

Thank you so much!

~Rob

Hi Rob,

This is OOB with the Org Chart widget in the Employee Service Center (HR Portal). There have been some great usability enhancements on the Org Chart as well that would meet your use case.

Mike

I have build Portal that uses specific view from user table and displays it on portal.

Most of stuff I had to remove but you can get the idea how you can use it.

I have used OOTB manager and coworker widgets

Ahhh - Thank you Mike squared! (haha)

you both have answered my question. Both of you pointed me in the right direction and I am glad this is already OOTB functionality! Makes my life easier with this one!

Thanks to you both!
