Hello,
As an example, If there was a 'java.exe' file packaged with Oracle on a server and it hasn't been installed - Would ServiceNow still classify this as a Software Installation? I am not seeing that happen but just looking for advice on expected behaviour.

Hi @DarOB,
1) if the "java.exe" is a running process, it will be covered and processed by Oracle GLAS - Oracle Java process discovery - Oracle Global License Advisory Services (GLAS) data collection
2) if the discovered "java.exe" is not yet part of the content library it will be processed by File-based discovery as "unidentified file set" and need to be normalized manually. File-based Discovery. The normalization requires the following plugin "File Signature Normalization" File Signature Normalization
Best, Dennis
