Hello,

Can someone guide me, how i can have a link added to knowledge article on annotation, similar to below?

I am thinking of using href attribute of html (need URL example to open Knowledge article on new tab)   on annotation.

Go to the KBA you want to use. Go to the bottom and select "Copy Permalink"

Use Configure> Form Layout (not Designer).

Locate and place the annotation on your form.

find_real_file.png

In the Annotation Details (on the right after placing the field), use an HREF tag similar to the following based on the pasted URL from the permalink - NOTE, remove the instance name and start at /kb_view

find_real_file.png

Final result...

Hi Chuck - a related question for you.   Can this be done as a variable on a Record Producer?   Scenario: We have two parking garages managed by third party vendors that require a fillable pdf form to be sent to them.   In the Parking Permit (Facilities Request) we want to attach the pdf to the form when they open the request (from catalog or portal), download and re-attached the pdf to the request and submit. That is one possible approach - not sure if we can do that.

The other approach is similar to above.   From the Request form, point the User to the KBA that contained to two pdf forms.   They can choose which pdf for which garage, download from there, fill out locally and attached to the Parking Request when they submit the ticket.   What you say??   Does that make sense and is there an easy solution?   Thanks so much!

Hi Rusty,

Sorry for the delayed response. I would take approach #2 as it requires less implementation and can get you up and running quicker. Ideally, I'd rather not have the user locate, download, fill out, and upload a form. Is there any way you can send the parking garage people an email with the information or is PDF the only choice? Seems like an arcane way to do their process. I'd work with them to see if you can help modernize it and help your users in the process.
