instancename@service-now.com is available in Zurich release?

Hello,

Is "instancename@service-now.com" available to receive inbound emails in Zurich release?

System Mailboxes > Administration > Email Accounts = table [sys_email_account] has no record in PDI.

If I want to utilize the email account to receive inbound emails, how can I set up it?

Best regards,

Kody

Hi Kody,

Yes, I got the same results...

On https://developer.servicenow.com/blog.do?p=/post/sending-emails-from-pdis/ , I can read:

It seems we cannot do that anymore.

So, I configured my own POP3 for and I was able to email my instance. (I created a new email account on my email service provider)

I haven't tested with a public email provider like gmail or else.

In the PDI documentation, it is mentioned that you cannot use gerrillamail but Managing your PDI seems inaccurate on this topic.

If you want to test emails you can:

  • set up a POP3 or IMAP server or,
  • insert email records in sys_email (manually or you can have ATF do that for you, emails are not rolled back as far as I remember)

These are the two options I can think about now.

Let us know!

Philippe

Hi Kody,

Have you been able to setup the emails on your PDI? There is a cog wheel/settings button in line with the name of the PDI where you can enable emails for a PDI.

This is explain in "Managing your PDI" link

Please let me know how it works for you.

Hi Philippe,

Thank you for your reply.

I have changed 'enable email sending and receiving' to true from the gear icon.

However, my PDI doesn't receive emails and I receive the following message from my mailer (gmail):

>Address unkown
>The email was not delivered to (myinstancename)@service-now.com
>because the address was not found or is not capable of receiving email.
>Response from the remote server:
>550 5.1.2 : Recipient address rejected: Invalid mailbox domain

Is anyone receiving inbound emails on your Zurich (or recent releases) PDI?

Does anyone see any docs page about deprecation of the default email address on the other hand?
