Update an excel file available within ServiceNow

Hi Experts!

I have a requirement where i need to to a glide record to query the records, then I need to update an excel template stored in the sys_attachment table and further attach it to a service request.

Can I get some direction on the best way to update an excel template with new cell values within ServiceNow?

This is a bit of a convoluated way to update data. I am sure we can help you accomplish the outcome in a more straightforward fashion. Can you elaborate on what people do with the final spreadsheet? Why does it have to be in a spreadsheet ? Could the data be exposed in a workspace or portal for easier consumption and updates?
