Zing to AI Search transition

We are looking to switch over to AI Search but first we have some questions.

1. Are we able to enable AI Search but continue to use Zing while we test the AI Search configurations?

2. Is AI Search an additional widget and not a full on replacement of Zing?

3. We want to make sure our users can at least use Zing like they are now if something on AI Search isn't functioning. Once we swap to AI Search can we switch back to Zing?

4. Can AI Search be enabled on a PDI? I read that it can be requested to be enabled but it will never get activated.

5. We will be on Rome when we start to use AI Search but plan to upgrade to San Diego, are there any issues we should be aware or things we would want to prepare for?

Thank you in advance!

Hello @Linda Meraz ,

Here are the answers

1. Are we able to enable AI Search but continue to use Zing while we test the AI Search configurations? Musab - No, once you enable AI search you cannot use Zing

2. Is AI Search an additional widget and not a full on replacement of Zing? Musab - It's full replacement of Zing on Portals

3. We want to make sure our users can at least use Zing like they are now if something on AI Search isn't functioning. Once we swap to AI Search can we switch back to Zing?  - Musab - As said in point 1, you cannot use Zing if AI is enabled so everything works based on AI search

4. Can AI Search be enabled on a PDI? I read that it can be requested to be enabled but it will never get activated.? Musab - No you cannot enable in PDI

5. We will be on Rome when we start to use AI Search but plan to upgrade to San Diego, are there any issues we should be aware or things we would want to prepare for? Musab - Multiple Language search is not enabled with AI yet, but there are talks like it will be done in San diego, to make AI works similar to Zing when it comes to Multi language search we have implemented below solution which you can use.

1. Are we able to enable AI Search but continue to use Zing while we test the AI Search configurations?

I wanted to provide some additional context on this question that I think would be helpful. You enable AI Search on your instance, which just associates AI Search infrastructure with it and provides the configuration options and information.

You then enable it on a per-portal basis. You can test a new portal with AI Search before making the changes in a portal that still has Zing in it.
