User roles in Impact

  • Impact offers many roles to assign to fit your business needs. When you log in to Impact, you’ll see a personalized view of your objectives, metrics, and recommendations tied directly to your role.

    There are different Impact roles for the Impact Delivery Instance and the Impact Store Application.

    Table 1. Impact roles and descriptions for IDI
    Role Description
    Impact User
    • Has general access to Impact.
    • Impact users can create and update conversations.
    Impact Permissions Authorizer Allows users to grant permissions for Impact features that require consent.
    Impact Executive
    • Has read access to view overall Impact status and business value reporting.
    • Responsible for defining the long-term technology strategies for their organization.
    • Executive users can create and update conversations.
    • Owns the overall ServiceNow roadmap.
    Impact Platform Owner
    • Has full access to all Impact features.
    • Can request services like Accelerators and advisory sessions
    • Responsible for the overall accountability of the ServiceNow platform.
    • Provides leadership and oversight to the System Administrators.
    • Ensures team alignment to business strategy and the ServiceNow roadmap.
    • Actively involved in the overarching governance of the ServiceNow platform.
    Impact Admin
    • Provides user account management. (This is a key differentiator from the Impact Executive role.)
    • Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the ServiceNow platform.
    • Manages premium access, such as Instance Observer and Developer Support.
    • Has full access to all Impact features.

    Impact App Admin
    • Responsible for configuring the Impact application
    • Sets up integration with the Impact IDI
    •  Assigns roles to users and groups
    • Has full create, read, update, and delete access to all tables within Impact applications
    Impact Platform Owner
    • Has full create, read, update, and delete access to all tables within Impact applications
    • Cannot configure, setup integration or assign roles to users or groups
    • Can request services like accelerators and advisory sessions
    Impact Portfolio Owner
    • Has full create, read, update, and delete access to all tables within Impact applications
    • Cannot configure, setup integration or assign roles to users or groups
    • Can request services like Accelerators and advisory sessions
    Impact Executive
    • Responsible for defining the long-term technology strategies for their organization
    • Has read access to all Impact functionalities
    • Has read access to view Capabilities Maps, Product Adoption Roadmaps,Objectives and outcomes, Accelerators, and advisory sessions
    • Can create and update conversations.
    Impact User
    • Has general access to Impact.
    • Impact users can create and update conversations.
