Managing Support Groups in ServiceNow: AD vs locally in ServiceNow

Dear Community,

Would like to ask your experience on what is best way to manage support groups (For Change Management, Problem Management, other ITSM processes). Would you use Active Directory to manage those groups and export them to ServiceNow, or do you manage and create those groups locally, in ServiceNow platform?

Thank you,
Mantautas.

Hi,

I would prefer having it created groups in Active Directory only as that I feel is more robust and single place where all group details including Group membership can be maintained which can be used with other applications as well.

There is very good article in community present on the same topic, please have a look which should solve your query as well:

Hope this helps. Please mark the answer as correct/helpful based on impact.
