Discovery of Middleware CI and Reconcilation

Hi All,

We are in a process of reconcilation of Middleware CIs from SNow CMDB.

My query is how can we identify the Middleware CI is active and running on the target Server?

For example, assume there are 4 Weblogic CIs running at Unix Server and the same has been discovered through process classification at the exploration phase of the Server discovery.

Out of 4 weblogic CIs one of them got uninstalled from the target. As per the target data only 3 CIs are active.   But in CMDB we have 4 weblogic CIs created.

So, how can we exclude the one which is not active?

Thanks in advance!!

Regards

Boo

Great topic to discuss as you mature your CMDB and Discovery process. There is nothing setup OOB that would take that CI away or retire it once the process has no longer been found, but there are indications of this happening that might show it is a stale record. One big indicator is the Most Recent Discovery field that is updated by discovery and if that field is no being updated after x amount of days you could setup a process to mark it as non-operational or something that fits your companies model.

Within Helsinki we started to introduce the cmdb health dashboard to start pointing out these types of items. Depending on your version you may have to take it upon yourself to build something or look into utilizing this feature if possible.

Hi ,

Created   CERTIFICATION FILTERS     which are then tied/referenced to  CERTIFICATION TEMPLATE    which are then tied/referenced to    AUDIT. I can see the Audit Results in the related List of Audit . I expected these Audit results to be displayed under the Compliance in CMDB Dashboard .

What should I do ?
