How is the contract value worked out? And it possible to configure differently

For me on my instance the contract value field is worked out by adding the payment amount and any taxes on however I want this to be worked out by using the length of the contract and then if i put the payment schedule to monthtly and I enter the Monthly payment it would then work out the total contract value. So say the Contract is 2 years and the payment terms is set to monthly I would enter in the payment amount box the monthly cost and then the contract field is worked out based on length of contract which currently this isnt doing so was wondering if this is possible to configure?

Hi @joshmorris ,

There are few Business rules which comes OOTB which contributes to the calcuation.

Now , you can refer and check which one of the Business rules installed with Contract Management , is doing the job for you, then you can configure as per your requirement.

For you custom requirement, even this solution will help you : https://www.servicenow.com/community/service-management-forum/business-rule-for-field-calculation/m-...

Im assuming it is this business rule as below but how would I configure to how I want it as I am not great with script
