Howdy folks.
I'm a new user. I'm trying to create reports that give how often (frequency) something ISN'T used in a given time period. One is for assignment groups and one is for catalog items. I think, unfortunately, first I need a report giving positive results and then combine it with a report listing all available like items to make these negative results relevant.
The most preferable report would have show all results including null results, perhaps by listing all available items and just returning "0" instead of "59", "137", etc. That would be great.
I've searched for the answer, but my search skills must be lacking, because there's just no way that people haven't asked for this before. No way.
This was easy to do in Smart Reporting but now we are using ServiceNow... (which I'm actually happy about) but I just don't see very many options for when you create reports, just fields to display, filters, group by, and sort by. When I group by the field, you'll see that it does give the frequency. Unfortunately this frequency is part of the displayed field instead of a separate field.
Please reference attached Group and Sort by Frequency.jpg. And it seems like you can't create calculated fields, at least I don't see that option for a List report. if any Type of report. So I can't do it.
I'm thinking that maybe this involves a different kind of report other than a list. Also, does it take more than one report?
Also, someone in a question thread which was on the basic subject but not sorting on frequency mentioned exporting two basic reports for how often something was used and what those available somethings are (items or groups) in order to use in a new pivot report. But all I see for exporting is export settings and export to pdf. Sounds like exporting results rather than exporting the report object. I don't see how that would help.
Another thing is that sometimes people give code. But there is no place in Analytics to enter code. And I'm not really a coder. I know that people can copy code of course, but I just don't know where someone would paste it... not in a report in the reports screen.
Thank you so much for any assistance you can provided and for tolerating my ignorance.
