  • Edit text that the AI generated, or share your thoughts in AI Data Explorer by adding text to an exploration.

    Before you begin

To access AI writing tools, the refine text in exploration skill must be activated. For more information, see Activate AI Data Explorer skills.

Role required: now_assist_explorer_user, and you must own the exploration or have editing rights to it.

To edit the summary of insights that the AI has generated, place the cursor anywhere in the answer and start typing. You can also select all or part of that text and type over it. You have style options for your edits. You can also select the entire summary and have AI shorten it, lengthen it, or change the tone. The AI shows you its modified text, which you can copy and paste or insert below the original.

    Note:
Refreshing or regenerating a response removes all changes that you made manually to the text in the summary.

To add your own text to an exploration, place your cursor in an empty space and start typing. When you have finished your draft, select your text to add styling or have AI refine the text, like when you are editing generated text.

When editing your own text, you also have markup options. You can tag a colleague, who is notified of the tag if they have editing rights. If the colleague cannot access the exploration, you see a message to that effect. If you have sharing rights, you can immediately share the exploration with that user with editing rights. You can also add text markup by typing a forward slash (/) and selecting what you want from a list. Options include four levels of headings, tables, and bullet or numbered lists.
