View a summary of map contents on the Overview panel

  • The Overview panel displays summary data for items on the map that are associated with the home node — counts and types of CIs and connections, discovery sources, and so on.

    Before you begin

    Role required: sn_cmdb_user

    About this task

    Note:
    The information on the Overview panel isn't affected by zoom settings or by filter settings even if nodes that are associated with the home node are not visible on the map.

    Procedure

    While working in a map, in the Search bar, search for and select the CI to set as the home node and then select the Overview icon .

    Field Description
    Home node The CI that is currently the home node. For more information, see Specify the home node.
    Home node type The CI type of the home node CI.
    CIs

    Count of CIs that are associated with the home node.

    CI types

    Count of types of CI for CIs that are associated with the home node.

    Connections

    Count of connections for CIs that are associated with the home node.

    Connection types

    Count of connection types for the CIs that are associated with the home node.

    Discovery sources

    Count of discovery sources related to the CIs that are associated with the home node.

    Map time The timestamp that is specified on the timeline. The time is set to "now" when you first open a map. For more information, see Viewing related items on the Unified Map timeline.
