Using Service Mapping

As the Service Mapping administrator, you support companies in their efforts to map and maintain critical application services so that they remain service-aware.

• Create a service instance from various data sources
  Search for mapped and unmapped services to unify. The flow is available using the Service Mapping workspace.
• Edit a unified service
  Add or remove services to update a unified service. The flow is available using the Service Mapping workspace.
• Delete a unified service
  Delete a unified service using the Service Mapping workspace.
• Create an application service for unmapped servers
  Maximize the use of your organization's resources by mapping application service candidates that include unmapped servers. Use the Service Mapping workspace's unmapped servers widget to create an application service and ensure that your servers are used efficiently.
• Map application services based on Automated Service Suggestions
  Map a new application service based on automatically generated suggestions. Use the Automated Service Suggestions or Service Fingerprints features to create a new application service or add to an existing service in a few clicks.
• Map your application services using tags in the Service Mapping Workspace
  Categorize and organize organization's configuration items and map them into application services using the Tag-based dashboard in the Service Mapping workspace.
• Access the Unified Map feature from the Service Mapping Workspace
  View a hierarchical map of CIs and the relationships between them by adding access to the Unified Map feature to the Service Mapping Workspace.
• Application service mapping using classic Service Mapping
  You can perform initial mapping of multiple or single application services in your organization using a method that best suits you.
• Application service analysis and maintenance using legacy Agent Workspace
  Service Mapping creates maps to help you see the architecture and organization of application services. These maps are useful for planning change or migration, as well as analyzing the continuity and availability of services.
