Key Features
- Data Visualization Components: Serve as containers for various chart types to display data dynamically. Customers can create new visualizations or reuse existing ones by selecting from a library. These visualizations help present application data in meaningful ways.
- Filter Components: Allow users to filter data visualizations on the home page without altering the visualizations themselves. Filters are configured by selecting tables and fields and apply to all visualizations sharing the same data source, enhancing interactivity and user control.
- Heading Components: Enable adding titles or headings to home pages to organize and clarify content for users.
- Image Components: Facilitate adding customizable images, including the ability to replace default stock images with URLs, to enhance the visual appeal of home pages.
- List Components: Provide the ability to add lists to the landing page, useful for displaying grouped information in a clear format.
- Rich Text Components: Allow adding explanatory or instructional text to pages, helping users understand the context or priority of displayed information.
Key Outcomes
By leveraging these Workspace Builder components, ServiceNow customers can quickly build engaging and functional workspace home pages tailored to their organizational needs. Ultimately, this leads to more effective workspaces that help users focus on relevant information and actions.
Several UI Builder components are available as elements to build home pages and contextual side panels in Workspace Builder. Workspace Builder helps you quickly create workspaces.
For complete details on all elements and components, see the ServiceNow® Developer site.
Data visualization components
The data visualization component is a container for available chart types for use in Workspace Builder home pages. Select the chart type to display data in different ways depending on your application. You can create a new data visualization or repurpose an existing data visualization by choosing it in the Select visualization from library modal and selecting Add to dashboard.
Filter components
Filters enable you to filter data visualizations without modifying the visualizations. Add a filter element when working with the home page in the canvas. Then select a table, field, and other properties to configure the filter. When a user selects one or more values of the field, the filter applies to those data visualizations that are based on the same data source.
