The Space optimization also enables you to view space allocations and make any space-related changes on a building directly. You can view a building stack plan and floor map same as scenarios.

- For Floor map view, the floor maps must be created using Workplace Indoor Mapping Map studio.
Role required: sn_wsd_spcmgmt.space_planner, sn_wsd_spcmgmt.scenario_reader (read-only; to view a building)
About this task
- View space allocations on each floor based on different view options. For more information on the different view by options that are available, refer to Scenario and Building - Views, states, settings, and key features.
- Get space details of each allocation on the stack plan same as in scenarios.
- Perform map-based space administration. Such as, editing or updating user assignments to a neighborhood.
- View space allocations based on the workplace entities. This view option is supported only in the building view. You can specify the entity type based on which you want to see the space allocations.
- You can also perform changes on a building using a floor map directly. Refer to Edit a building's spaces using a map.

- Create a scenario
Create a scenario with a building. Add, update or remove space allocations before publishing and deploying a scenario. Manage and update your scenarios using the Stack plan and Floor map component tabs.
- Viewing or editing a scenario
You can view the details like the floor details and space KPIs. You can edit a scenario to allocate spaces to projects and neighborhoods, assign spaces to users, or edit space assignments.
- Review a scenario
Review a scenario created by your colleague on a building in a read-only mode.
- Publish a scenario
After creating a scenario and implementing the space allocation and assignment, assignment type change for a department, cost center, or neighborhood publish the scenario. Share the scenario with your colleagues or stake holders.
- Send a scenario for approval
After publishing the scenario, send your scenario for approval to workplace managers of your organization.
- Change owner of a scenario
Change the ownership of a scenario that is published and is in the Ready state. Enable other space planners also to make their changes to the scenario that you created. A can switch a scenario between multiple owners one at a time.
- Deploy a scenario
After publishing a scenario plan, deploy the scenario on your production.
- View scenario change details
View details of each change that you implemented in a scenario. You can view details such as the space that is changed, the type of change, and the workplace move case associated with the change.
- Create a copy of an existing scenario
Create a copy of an existing scenario and make changes. Save time from a creating a scenario from scratch if there are only minor changes to an already created scenario.
- Work on a space assist request
As a space planner, fulfill workplace space assistance requests. View the selected space plan of the request and deploy accordingly. You can also assign the request to another assignment group or a user.
- Map based space administration
As a space planner, perform space assignments, user assignments and other actions on a building using the building's floor map directly.
