  • The ServiceNow® Journey designer application enables managers and employees to create and track journeys. Journeys include transition plans, such as promotions, offboarding, onboarding, and role changes for employees. Journey designer was enhanced and updated in the Xanadu release.

    Journey designer highlights for the Xanadu release

    • Use the Journey overview dashboard, a comprehensive dashboard that enables you to efficiently track and manage ongoing tasks and journeys within the organization.
    • Use the Executive view dashboard with reports containing information such as the number of employees completing their journeys, SLA breaches, average days to complete journeys, and other metrics.
    • Change the manager during journey configuration.
    • Enhanced employee experience through the parental leave guide shipped as part of Parental Leave demo data.

    Support a change of manager

    Enable journeys to support a change of manager.

    Base instance demo data of Journey designer to support multiple journeys
    Leverage the parental leave guide shipped as part of Parental Leave demo data to enhance the employee experience.
    Return to the Journey details page after a task is completed
    Navigate back to the Journey details page after task completion, avoiding the need to go through the breadcrumbs.
    Delete subsequent tasks when a journey is deleted
    Delete a journey and all the subsequent tasks at the same time.

    UI changes

    Journey dashboard filters
    New filters are added to the Journey overview dashboard and Executive journey view dashboard.
    New field in the task template
    A new Share with field is added to the Task template form.
    Journey Designer guided tours
    Selecting the help icon from the main sidebar initiates a guided tour of Journey designer cases.
    Return to the Journey details page after a task is completed
    Return to the Journey details after task completion, eliminating the need to navigate back to the journey details page via breadcrumbs.

    Activation information

    Install Journey designer by requesting it from the ServiceNow Store. Visit the ServiceNow Store website to view all the available apps and for information about submitting requests to the store.
