  • The ServiceNow® Workflow Studio application provides a single location to access all process automation applications. Workflow Studio was enhanced and updated in the Xanadu release.

    Workflow Studio highlights for the Xanadu release

    • Create workflow items from any Workflow Studio page by using the Create button on the tab header.
    • Create your own categories to organize actions, data streams, and subflows.
    • Monitor playbook and flow operations with new usage dashboards.
    • See an information banner when a new version of Workflow Studio is available.

    Important:
    Workflow Studio is available in the ServiceNow Store. For details, see the "Activation information" section of these release notes.

    Important information for upgrading Workflow Studio to Xanadu

    As of Washington DC patch 3, updating Workflow Studio automatically updates all of its application dependencies such as ServiceNow® Workflow Studio, Playbook, and ServiceNow® Decision Builder. You can no longer see or update the individual application dependencies of Workflow Studio from the ServiceNow® Store or the list of plugins.

    UI changes

    Replaced the list of flow executions with the flow usage dashboard
    Opening the operations view displays the Usage dashboard for flows and subflows rather than a list of recent executions. The list of flow and subflow executions is now under the monitoring section.
    Replaced the list of playbook executions with the playbook usage dashboard
    Opening the operations view displays the Usage dashboard for playbooks rather than a list of recent executions. The list of playbook executions is now under the monitoring section.

    Changed in this release

    Activation information

    Install Workflow Studio by requesting it from the ServiceNow Store. Visit the ServiceNow Store website to view all the available apps and for information about submitting requests to the store.
