Legacy application manager

Before you can use any ServiceNow application, you must verify that you have entitlement to it, meaning that you have valid licenses to use it. Then, you can install the application and its plugins from the ServiceNow Store.

The information in this section describes using the legacy or classic application manager experience.

A new Application Manager experience is now available. The new experience simplifies the process of managing your licensed applications by consolidating them in one convenient location, displaying all your licensed applications, plugins, installed applications, and available updates. For more information, see Application Manager.

• Opt in to the ServiceNow Store products
  Opt in to the required product available on ServiceNow Store by navigating to the ServiceNow Products module.
• Manage entitlements from your ServiceNow instance
  Manage entitlement of applications and products purchased on the ServiceNow Store from your ServiceNow instance.
• Accessing unpurchased recommended apps on ServiceNow Store
  Administrators can access the list of unpurchased ServiceNow Store apps, view recommended apps, and view details of the required app without navigating to the ServiceNow Store.
• Request and install free application trial
  Request and install a free application trial of an application before procuring the application directly from your ServiceNow instance, without navigating to ServiceNow Store.
• Request a free or paid application
  Request a free or paid application that requires approval from the vendor to purchase the application directly from the ServiceNow instance, without navigating to ServiceNow Store.
• Complete the offline application purchase transaction
  Complete the application purchase transaction from your ServiceNow instance after purchasing the application offline, without navigating to the ServiceNow Store.
• Schedule installation
  Schedule the installation of a plugin, application, or product at the required time from your ServiceNow instance. You can simultaneously schedule multiple installations.
• Queued Application Operations
  CICD APIs that must obtain the update instance wide lock / mutex to perform the requested operations are queued instead of being rejected when the update instance wide lock / mutex is occupied by the other operations.
• Install or update all applications in a ServiceNow product
  Install or update all applications that are part of a ServiceNow product from your ServiceNow instance at a time.
• Install multiple applications in a batch
  The Batch Installation feature helps you install multiple applications, plugins, or application-customizations together, instead of having to install them serially one at a time. You can access this feature either from the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) APIs via three new endpoints, or via the CI/CD Spoke on Integration Hub using Flow Designer subflows and actions.
• Install a ServiceNow Store application
  Install an application that you purchased from the ServiceNow Store to make it available on your instance.
• Install an update to a ServiceNow Store application
  Install an update to an application that you purchased from the ServiceNow Store.
• Select an application from the application picker
  Use the application picker to select the application scope to which any new records and updates apply.
• Repair a ServiceNow application
  Repair a ServiceNow application by reinstalling it.
• Preserve applications and customizations in development during a system clone
  Manually preserve a copy of each application and customization that you currently have in development before you can clone the application version to the target (development) instance.
• Opt out of the ServiceNow Store products
  Opt out of the required product available on ServiceNow Store by navigating to the ServiceNow Products module.
