    The Software Asset Management publisher pack for Microsoft supports cost-based licensing optimizations for Microsoft. These licensing optimizations enable you to determine the most cost-effective licensing solutions for your Microsoft software products across hybrid infrastructures.

    You can view in-depth details about your realized and potential licensing optimizations in the Microsoft Core License Optimization Reports [samp_ms_optimization_report] table. This table can help you
    • gain insight into the licensing optimizations that have already been implemented across your Microsoft deployments,
    • gain insight into the recommended licensing optimizations that can potentially bring you additional savings,
    • better understand your Microsoft license consumption,
    • determine the cost savings that you have achieved by using the Software Asset Management application to track and manage your Microsoft licenses,
    • and download optimization reports that you can share with other users in your organization.

    Procedure

    1. On the page header of your ServiceNow instance, select All.
    2. In the menu navigation filter, enter samp_ms_optimization_report_list.do.
      The Microsoft Core License Optimization Reports [samp_ms_optimization_report] table opens.
    3. View your realized and potential cost-based licensing optimizations for Microsoft.
