Changes
- The Test button in Virtual Agent Designer now directly opens the chat widget for easier testing.
- Dynamic Translation calls are optimized to only trigger for unsupported languages in Now Assist.
- The Table bot response control includes a toggle to activate links per record in conversation outputs.
Deprecations
- The Conversational Analytics dashboard is prepared for future deprecation starting with Xanadu and is hidden from installation but remains supported.
- Now Assist in Conversational IVR support was removed in Yokohama.
- Starting with Zurich, Sensitive Data Handler and Sensitive Data Masking capabilities are being deprecated. The Data Privacy application is recommended as a replacement.
- Microsoft LUIS is no longer deployed, enhanced, or supported from Zurich onwards.
Activation and Requirements
- Virtual Agent requires activation of the Glide Virtual Agent plugin (com.glide.cs.chatbot) with a separate subscription, except for Virtual Agent Lite available to ITSM customers without activation.
- Zurich release activates Virtual Agent by default.
- Supported browsers include Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, with no changes to browser requirements through Zurich.
- No additional accessibility or localization changes were introduced in Zurich beyond existing ServiceNow Localization Framework integration.
Upgrade Preparation
Before upgrading to Zurich, customers should review and complete the provided pre- and post-upgrade tasks to ensure smooth transition. This includes assessing topic migrations, reviewing LLM topic descriptions, configuring system properties, and validating integrations such as Microsoft Copilot.
