Project Portfolio Management release notes
The ServiceNow® Project Portfolio Management application enables you to create and manage a wide range of planning items ranging from a few small tasks to large portfolios of projects. Project Portfolio Management was enhanced and updated in the Yokohama release.
Project Portfolio Management highlights for the Yokohama release
- Move your old status reports to a new tool to maintain a consistent reporting process.
- Secure your projects with confidentiality settings to safeguard all confidential data.
- Build a checklist for your project tasks to track the task activities for completion.
- Inline edit one or more cells in child resource assignments.
- Explore the new heatmap modal to monitor resource status, available capacity, and utilization efforts.
- Identify similar demand records based on contextual similarity in the name, description, and business case content using the identify similar records Now Assist skill.

New in the Yokohama release
- Identify similar records using Now Assist
- Detect similar existing demand records when creating or editing a demand using the identify similar records skill. This skill compares the Name, Description, and Business Case fields for contextual similarity.
- Migrate old status reports to new reporting tool
- Import your old status reports to a new status report tool for a consistent and organized reporting system.
- Apply confidentiality settings to your projects
- Secure sensitive projects by applying confidentiality settings to your projects and make sure only authorized users can access confidential data and sub-projects.
- Use checklist for project tasks
- Track the list of activities to be completed for a task by creating a checklist for your project tasks.
- Migrate notes of resource plans to resource assignments
- Migrate the existing resource plan notes along with the allocation details to resource assignments and get clear insights while working with resource assignments in Resource Management Workspace.
- Resource allocation and heatmap enhancements

- Use the allocation heatmap modal to view resource status, remaining capacity, and utilization and enable resource managers to assess task efforts.
- Use inline editing to update one or multiple cells in child resource assignments.

- Extend a resource assignment for a project or project task using the Extend row context menu action.

- The Identify similar demands button has been added to the demand form to identify and view any similar demands with the identify similar demands skill.
- The Similar Demands related list has been added, which displays the list of similar demand records identified by Now Assist.
Activation information
